Why is Chubb Locks changing?

For almost 200 years Chubb has been the name behind products customers know and trust, but in August 2010 that name will have to change.

We will continue to offer exactly the same products customers know and trust, but we will no longer be able to offer them under the Chubb name.* Instead they will continue to be available under one of our other prestigious brands which have a history and strong reputation within the secondary security and locking markets.

Although Chubb has been the name on our locks for so long, the brand is actually owned by an American multi-national and sold under a licence that runs out in August 2010.

We would like to have continued the Chubb name, but unfortunately they have decided not to extend the licence.
